This time of the year is all about thrills, imagination, and letting your inner beast run wild — so I figured it’s as good a time as any to put a spotlight on a certain trend in BL that’s been growing ever more popular in recent years… monster fucking!
Maybe it’s the danger of getting intimate with another species, or simply the strangeness aspect that draws so many in. Regardless of the reasons, it’s undeniable that humans have long been fascinated with creatures, and our entertainment (including our “adult content”) reflects that. Plus, monsters come in all shapes and sizes, so there’s something for just about everybody out there!
Whether you’re a seasoned monsterfucking enthusiast, or a curious newcomer ready to dip your toes into this beastly kink, I’ve compiled a list of recommendations that’s sure to please readers looking for something beyond human love.
I’ve done my best to order them from slightly superhuman to totally otherworldly, so scroll on for increasingly freaky finds!

Cat, dog, werewolf, what have you… beastly lovers are a classic in fiction for a reason!
Let’s start out with something on the tamer side — if you consider male lactation “tame”
The “Growth” Progress Of The Sexy Helper Dog by Chiku Nii
(Human doctor x dog type beast man!)
In this manga where human-animal hybrids known as beast people exist, Dr. Takatsuji finds a young man with dog ears and a tail trying to steal suppressants from his hospital’s stock. He helps the dog-type beast boy, Kohaku, who is suffering from a heat that can’t be suppressed, and lets him stay at his hospital to monitor his condition.
Things move very quickly, with Dr. Takatsuji helping to bring some “relief” to the helpless doggo boy. It’s clear that the doctor’s intentions are pure, and even his more medically questionable actions stem from wanting to relieve Kohaku from the pain of his condition. Kohaku himself is quite adorable, helping out around the hospital out of a desire to be useful, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s got a bit of a doggy dump truck too 
At 5 chapters total (the first 2 available on Renta! now), this is a short and sweet story with one horny dog boy, good old heat-driven smut, and plenty of heart.
But, maybe ears and a tail aren’t quite enough to satisfy your craving for furry fun — which is why I’ve added a second entry to this category which is sure to get you roaring!
Tiger & Carpenter by Jyuichi Tokisaka
(Part-time tiger x Beefy carpenter!)
Like many readers on Renta!, I initially decided to check this series out because “OOH, TIGER” — but I was quickly charmed by the characters more than anything. But, if you’re especially concerned about the smut quality, don’t worry — if you’ve ever looked at Tony the Tiger and thought, “I’d hit that…” then you’ll be eating VERY well with this series.
The titular carpenter, Fujiyama, is a hardworking man whose large build and Resting Bitch Face intimidate those around him. But, in reality, he’s a total softie who just wants to play with his many cats at home. The only one who treats him normally is his coworker Taiga, who may be a tad overly attached to him. One night, Fujimiya falls from a construction site and is saved by a tiger beast man… who turns out to be his coworker Taiga!
Distraught by having his cover blown, Taiga decides to leave his life as a normal human behind… but not before fulfilling his dream of “mating” with his beloved Fujiyama!
The sex scenes go ALL OUT on the tiger aspect. Only Taiga’s naughty bits are left human-like (though not human-sized, IYTKWIM 
), so everything else — from his furry chest to his rough tongue — are 100% BEAST.

Beautiful Birds

I’d been wanting to read this book for a while (check out that gorgeous cover art!), but I only just got the chance while doing research for this article. To be honest, I was just excited to discover some “feathery” content to share, but little did I know I was in for a whole ass FEELS TRIP.
Don’t get me wrong, the “sex with a half-man, half-bird” scenes have all the fluffy feathers and sharp talons you could want. But beyond that, this story, centered around the complicated relationship between a male harpy keeper and the beautiful specimen he inherited from his late brother, is a tale of grief, family, loneliness, and unconditional love. Also, I can’t understate how breathtaking Yayohi Monzen’s masterfully detailed art is throughout, making each page a delicious feast for the eyes.
If you like stories with emotional depth and excellent character and relationship development, you’ll definitely want to “peep” this manga. And if you’ve never experienced avian BL, who knows — you might just discover a new feathery fascination!
Dragon Dick
It’s not just donkeys 
who are charmed by these gorgeous, scaly creatures!
Stay With Me, My Dear Dragon by Kai Setsuna
(Lonely dragon shifter x Lonely student!)
Loner student Murasaki gets more than he bargained for when he decides to let a dragon shifter named Tsukumo stay at his home.
Tsukumo is too darn cute, both in his dragon form and human form (don’t worry — both forms have scales!), and his clingy personality when it comes to Tsukumo is funny at first, but tugs on your heartstrings after you realize just how he and Murasaki have ended up in their respective situations.
Not only is this a sweet romance between two lonely souls, but the sex scenes are just as good as you could imagine (or maybe even more so!). They’re full of love and emotion, and — this is key for the true Monsterfuckers out there — Tsukumo STAYS IN DRAGON FORM while they’re doing the deed! Will that giant thing fit in there?! You’ll have to read to find out!
Also, if you’re in the mood for even more Weird Freaky Shit, the second couple in Vol. 1 features plushophilia, which gives “fluff” a whole new meaning. (Seriously, I wasn’t expecting a manga with such adorable art to be this unabashedly kinky, but I’m SO here for it!!)
Discovering this series was a lovely surprise, and I’d love to recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a bit of reptilian romance. And with 3 whole volumes available on Renta!, you’re in for hours of fantastical, fetishy fun!
Naughty Nian Monsters
This New Year’s party just got a whole lot more interesting!
If you’re not too familiar with Chinese mythology, you may be wondering, “What’s a Nian monster?” According to legend, the Nian was a terrible beast that would emerge at the start of the new year and attack villages. This is why Chinese New Year traditions include wearing red, lighting lanterns, and setting off fireworks — they’re supposedly useful for keeping the Nian at bay!
Now, that’s all well and good, but what’s this got to do with BL, you ask? Well, just feast your eyes on…
The Deep-Sea Nian Monster Loves Bull XXXX… by YEN
(White ox x Nian monster x White ox again!)
In YEN’s steamy version of the legend, the Nian monster takes the form of a buff, 4-armed demon, and a white ox named Shiro is sent as a tasty sacrifice for him in order to protect his village. But, things take an unexpected turn when Shiro finds that the monster would rather devour him in another way…
If you like your dudes on the beefier, hairier side, what better to satisfy that need than a nice, juicy oxen himbo??
This manga contains one of the most memorable lines I’ve come across during my time here at Renta!: “Come put your bull cock in my cloaca.” It also includes a double-dick and more male lactation (gotta put those cow tiddies to work!) — all in all, a ride from start to finish.

Our friends over in Taiwan have provided us with a treasure trove of Nian-centered BL manga, featuring all your favorite Chinese Zodiac animals. Tentacle Time!
Slippery, slimy appendages — need we say more??
And, finally, we come to the classic, infamous trope of Japanese ero content. This series had my heart the second I saw the cover and title — if that says anything about me

Maybe I’m telling on myself a little here, but I was excited to read this the moment I discovered it. A cute alien boy with tentacles who just wants to mate and make babies with his true love? A manly uke with a mole and a nice set of hunky honkers?? Sign me TF up.
And boy, did this series not disappoint. Alien Sui’s quite adorable in both personality and character design (his tentacles can wag just like a puppy’s tail!), and he makes an effort to respect the boundaries of his love interest — military officer Yu, who’s understandably hesitant to jump into a relationship with an alien specimen, let alone bear his child. This is still porn, however, and when Sui does decide to unleash his tentacles on his G.I. beau, it’s every bit as slimy and sensual as you’d expect. I was fascinated with how the tentacles in this universe work in the bedroom to satisfy both parties. There’s also a bit of drama due to the taboo of human-alien relations, which makes the story feel a bit more grounded in reality despite its whacky premise.
With just 6 chapters in total, the story moves quickly, and has a satisfying conclusion that had me going, “Aaawww!!” If you’re a fluff junkie like me, with a bit of a kinky side, I can’t recommend this series enough.
