This one caught my eye because, put plainly, the cover is very cute. Very, very cute. You know how sometimes you can tell at a glance you’re just going to like something? That’s how I felt looking at the cover. Since I wanted to rewrite the product page anyway, I figured why not read the whole thing and, if I liked it, I’d review it. And I did like it, so I’m here to do just that.

The story follows porn actor Naomasa, and the man he finds Mitaka. No matter how many oysters he eats or supplements he takes, Naomasa just can’t seem to get it up anymore. Out of desperation, he stops by the local shrine on the way back from grocery shopping, hoping he can pray the flaccid away. There, he finds a beautiful young man passed out on the shrine deck. Figuring he can’t just leave him there, Naomsara brings him home and cooks him a vitality-filled meal, figuring some food might help. Sure enough, it does!

The man, Mitaka, just can’t get enough of Naomasa’s food. Suddenly, he gloms onto Naomasa with the declaration, “Say human, is there anything you want me to do for you?” In turns out Mitaka is a god of the shrine, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make Naomasa happy. And what will make Naomasa happy right here and now? Curing the E.D. that’s ruining his life, and getting him back to work.

Thankfully Mitaka seems strangely competent at randomly making Naomasa aroused. So Naomasa and Mitaka make an agreement (Naomasa the significantly more unsure of the two) that Mitaka will stay at his apartment—and be treated daily to Naomasa’s cooking—until he can help Naomasa overcome his E.D.

The only problem? The longer Naomasa is around Mitaka, the more attached he gets. Plus, the longer Mitaka is away from the shrine, the more his powers fade and he chances disappearing entirely. So when they catch feelings for each other, what will they do when staying together not only conflicts with their original goal, but could mean disaster for the both of them?

It’s quite short at just four chapters, but hits all the beats I look for in a simple but enjoyable BL manga. Mitaka is unbelievably cute—especially if you’re a sucker for very bubbly, naïve, happy-go-lucky characters. Because he starts off so innocent, it makes it even more impactful when he starts to feel strongly for Naomasa and no longer wants to see him with other people or leave his side. Naomasa, too, is really lovely. I’m admittedly an “uke fan”—I tend to like and sympathize with the uke characters most often, am generally more interested in them as a whole, and often base my decision to read BL off how much I’m drawn to the uke. But Naomasa was such a sweet and gentle person, and his love for Mitaka felt so wholehearted. There weren’t really any points where he was needlessly pushy or antagonistic toward Mitaka, and it just made him feel like a sincerely good person.

As for the art, 10/10, so cute and soft-looking. Sasayama’s art uses very clean but round lines, and for me personally it makes looking at their art a joy. The backgrounds are detailed and really make the world the story is taking place in feel whole, the use of screentone is sparing and clean, and the bodies of the characters are always drawn wonderfully. In particular, I really enjoy the way Sasayama draws hands, and the collarbone area… 😳 Everything, really.

The way Naomasa is drawn gives him such a mature, gentle masculinity, and even my “uke fan” self found him incredibly attractive. It’s no wonder he’s a sought-after porn star. Mitaka is incredibly cute and eye-catch with his white hair and huge, toothy smile. (The little fangs… my heart…) Also, can we just have a moment of appreciation for Mitaka’s bubble butt? So cute. There were so many points in ero scenes where the… uh… “ampleness” of Mitaka’s butt was the main focus, and it was great.

The ero scenes were also wonderful. One thing in particular that I enjoyed was how they felt more and more intimate as the manga went on. You could really feel Naomasa’s love for Mitaka, and how much he wanted to treasure him, which was lovely. That being said, I don’t mean to make the ero scenes sound overly fluffy and vague, because they’re not—they’re plenty raunchy, possibly even surprisingly so. So if you’re looking for something that’s both fluffy and cute, but also very hot and heavy, this just might be it.

Overall, I really enjoyed this manga! It’s possibly not everyone’s cup of tea, particularly those who’re into darker or heavier stories. But as a lover of the genre, sometimes this sweet and cute story is exactly what I’m looking for. If you like the art I shared in this post, I recommend going to the Renta! product page and checking out the samples, and deciding from there!
