Well, RentaBLog readers, on this Yaoi Day of the year 2024, have I got an announcement for you.
Last year, I made a post about censorship in BL manga, breaking down the legal restrictions and cultural precedents that have led to scribbled out assholes and light saber dicks galore in Japanese BL.
I also briefly touched upon the fact that, unfortunately for fans hoping to peep a fully rendered peeper in their BL, at the time of the post we had no uncensored manga available on Renta! due to, let’s say, ample caution (we are located in Japan, after all). However, it’s been a continuing discussion, as we’re always striving to provide BL fans with the Content they Want — and a sizeable portion of the fandom has spoken loud and clear: “Free Those Dongs.”
It’s been a long, hard battle, but internal discussions finally reached a climax, and a decision was reached that we think many of you will be pleased with: Renta! will now offer uncensored BL series!!!! Alongside the “censored” BL we’ve been dishing up since our early days, we now have a selection for the fans who’ve been wanting a little something “more” — a special treat just for overseas fans, because it’s too spicy to even sell in Japan!
And, what better day to unleash the hogs onto the Renta! sales floor than the day fans all around the world celebrate “yaoi” and all the gifts it’s given us?? I think it’s poetic, really
How to Access The Dongs
First, let’s go over the simple steps to viewing our Uncensored selection, so that you don’t find yourselves forever asking, “Where’s the Dong??”
We’ve recently taken extra measures to ensure that our 18+ manga selection is viewable only by legal and willing adults
Accessing from the Renta! homepage:
- Go to ebookrenta.com and click the “BL & Yaoi” genre home page to get to our BL hub.
2. Things will go blurry for a sec, but have no fear! Once this age verification message pops up, you need only click the “Yes” button to view all our hot and spicy BL titles (adults only, please! ).
3. If you scroll down a bit, you’ll find our “Search by Category” section. Find the “Uncensored” button, and click to go to the search page for all our BL manga that’s tagged “Uncensored.”
4. Find something you like, and enjoy!

To get you started on your exploration of Renta!’s new Uncensored BL selection, I’ve personally picked a few titles from our “Uncensored” tag that’ll surely be a fresh new BL experience for you!

A Beast’s Love Is Like the Moon by Guri Nojiro
My face lit up when I saw the cover of this manga, having only seen the title before, as I instantly recognized the art style and was thrilled to known we’d be welcoming our first Guri Nojiro manga to Renta!
In this sentimental and somewhat fantastical story, a young man named Izuki travels out to the countryside to take care of his uncle’s house, hoping it’ll be a peaceful change of pace. But things only get more hectic for him when he finds himself accidentally bound to a guardian dog spirit (both spiritually and physically), in the form of an extremely clingy man named Haku.
As if the mesmerizing art wasn’t enough (I could stare at it for hours…!) the story is touching and by the end you might need some tissues… for your eyes, that is 
Plus, there’s a cute cat character! Really, what’s not to love?!
Heat x Beat: I May Be an Omega, but I’m Going to Be an Idol! by Ken Homerun
This one’s got even more animal ears — and it’s omegaverse! With an idol twist?!
Yep, this hottie-filled BL introduces us to Asahi, an extremely cute catboy who aspires to be an idol, and won’t let anything get in the way of his dream — not even his omega status. But, things get complicated when.it turns out one of the members in the boyband he joins turns out to be an alpha! And to make things more interesting, Madoka makes a proposal to Asahi, offering to “help him out” during his heats… all for the sake of the band, of course! Will Asahi’s determination win out over his primal urges?
If you just can’t get enough of Ken Homerun’s pretty boys breaking a sweat both on and off stage, you’ll be happy to hear that there’s a spinoff of this book as well, in the form of Heat x Beat: A Shut-In Omega Becomes an Idol! — with even more catboys getting frisky!
The Man Who Shattered My World by Osamu Moriya
If what you’re mainly hoping for with this new Uncensored Era is some good smutty action, then look no further than THIS book — the plot centers around the physical relationship between two handsome men, and quite a kinky one at that! I for one am a huge fan of the trope of “cocky self-identified Top™ gets his brains fucked out by a guy even more dominant than he, and slowly finds himself evolving into a little bitch baby who longs to be stuffed.”
Moriya-sensei’s art style perfectly suits the sultry tone of the story, and the sex scenes are as 
as it gets — with EVERYTHING out in the open for you to enjoy! All in all, it’s a great first look into what sexy BL is like in its full glory.
But wait… there’s more!
I’d like to note that along with this first wave of uncensored content on offer, we’ve also got a handful of series that won’t appear in the “Uncensored” tag search because they’re technically censored, in that 100% of “the goods” aren’t on full display — but are still more revealing than what’s previously been allowed on Renta!. Just how much more revealing, you ask? Well, it varies from work to work, but let’s just say… they push the limits of Japanese censorship law so much that they won’t even be purchasable from Japanese IP addresses

Breathless Momentum: Super Pink [Bonus Story] by Zeniko Sumiya
I was super excited to hear that with the new censorship guidelines that one of the manga we’d be releasing was this hot and heavy “official doujinshi” (that I was lucky enough to get a copy of the day it released at J.Garden last fall) — a bonus story to the heartwarming band geek BL series Breathless Momentum (a strong personal rec from me, btw!)
This story (which takes place entirely in bed ) can be enjoyed by both fans of the main series and newcomers who just wanna see a big, buff dude get manhandled and brought to pieces by his pretty boy boyfriend.
In case you couldn’t guess from the cover, the focus here is one one of my favorite, er, tropes: NIPPLE PLAY! Plus a bunch of other sexy fun, including the rare but always welcome depiction of RIMMING
(Ames forbade me from using the donut emoji 
)!
As for the “partial censorship,” well, when reading this, I said to myself, “That is a full ass dong with a tiny little glowing spot just barely obscuring a part of the peen,” if that gives you an idea of just HOW “detailed” the art is. Maybe not fully uncensored in the truest sense, but definitely waaay less is left to the imagination than what was previously allowed on Renta! This is 64 pages of sexy fun between two guys who are totally in love that will leave you (wait for it)… breathless

To be clear, this new “era” of Renta! BL bringing you fresh, hot, UNCENSORED BL was only made possible because of YOU guys letting your voices be heard across social media. And, you can play a part in deciding how much more dong we’ll get to offer in the future as well!
In particular, series marked with our “Localized by Renta!” tag — that is, the manga titles that we localize in-house, which make up some of our most popular series on the site — will be censored as usual for the time being… but depending on fans’ reception to our new foray into full frontal (and behind
